A sturdy compact tractor, the Estate 384M is small enough to drive through a standard 36" garden gate yet large enough to maintain a good sized lawn. Fitted with a 414 cc ST 400 Series four-stroke engine, the Estate 384M Lawn Tractor may be small but it has power to spare.
The cutting deck features twin contra-rotating blades for a fine finish that direct grass cuttings through the wide rear discharge chute into the collector. A twin-bladed deck gives a better finish than one with a single blade as the collection is cleaner and more powerful due to the direct centre rear discharge, with the throw and air volume generated by two blades. The cutting result is also visibly improved as a twin-bladed deck follows the ground contours better and is therefore less likely to scalp the grass. Cutting heights range from 25mm to 80mm with 7 pre-set positions. Grass cuttings are blown into the large 200 litre rear-mounted collector, which has an alarm to alert the operator when the collector is full. The collector can be emptied from the driver's seat - simply pull the lever up and tip out the grass.
This tractor has a comfortable high back seat which is adjustable to suit the driver. The seat also features a safety switch which cuts out the engine if the driver gets off the machine when the blades are turning. To engage the cutting blades, simply pull out the switch on the dashboard; the electric clutch does the rest. Turning off the blades is equally easy: simply push in the switch to engage a brake which stops the blades within 3 seconds. A snap-on hose connection on the cutter deck facilitates cleaning after use.
If you don't want to collect to your clippings why not add the optional mulching plug to your purchase. For areas that are being cut on a more regular basis the mulching function cuts and re-cuts the grass into small particles that disappear into the turf, returning valuable nutrients to the soil.
This model is covered by a 5 year Manufacturer's Warranty (Terms & Conditions apply) and is recommended for lawns of up to 3200m2.
This model can comes with a tow hitch which allows the use of many labour saving accessories. A mulch plug is also included. A deflector & battery can be purchased as optional extras.
Mulching is a great feature. It saves so much time and cutting the lawn can be more than 30% quicker as there is no need to stop to empty clippings, which also results in a significant fuel saving. You may well ask “Will I see the mulched grass?” and the answer is “No!” Mulched clippings are blown down into the turf and are not noticeable, provided the grass is cut regularly and not on the lowest setting.

Stiga have been associated with garden machinery for well over 80 years. In March 1934, Sweden, Stig Hjelmquist started the company ‘Firma Fabriksprodukter’ which became the foundation of Stiga AB. The original business concept was ‘newsworthy products of good design and good quality, with advertising that is better than our competitors.’ This business concept was designed to permeate through the whole of Stig Hjelmquist’s business life.
In 1938 the company name was changed to Stiga and the very first Stiga table tennis products were produced. In 1943 Stiga were producing table tennis equipment under their own management, but a few years later they began cooperating with the Swedish TableTennis Association.
In 1954 Stig Hjelmquist imported the first motorized lawn mowers with horizontally rotating blades from the US. That became the starting point of Stigas most successful line; garden machinery.
Over the next few years Stiga continued to work on their table tennis line and produced the first table hockey game. But in 1964 they began their own line of lawnmowers which was incredibly successful. Roughly 400 machines were produced every day.
Stiga became established abroad and sales offices were opened in London and Helsinki, Finland. In 1975 Stiga launched the very first Park: Park 2000, a ride on lawn tractor with a front deck which revolutionized grass cutting in Nordic countries
By 1976 Stiga’s new factory was a massive 34,000m2 making it the biggest factory in the Nordic countries producing motor driven lawnmowers.
Stiga became the biggest manufacturer of lawn mowers in Europe by 1986. They introduced the first mower with the Multi-clip technology, and the first radio controlled mower.
By 1997, Stiga were represented in roughly 40 countries, including New Zealand, North America, South America and Eastern Europe.
Now, Stiga are owned by the GGP Group, manufacturer of one of the largest range of lawn mowers and garden machinery in Europe. GGP UK Limited distribute all Stiga garden machinery in the UK.
