One of the features that really stands out on this model (upgraded from the S461R PD model) is the clever push button electric start. Mountfield have designed this to make your life easier! There's no need to pull on a rope cord to start this mower, simply push a button. And don't worry if you have pets or children in the vicinity, Mountfield take your safety very seriously by incorporating Operator Presence Control. You won't need to worry if you leave your mower unattended as OPC alleviates the risk of someone pressing the button by accident and starting the machine up. You need to press the button and hold the handle down at the same time to start it up. Easy when you know how, but impossible for a child to accidentally start. Also, the machine cannot be left to idle, a nifty money saver and safety feature rolled into one!
Mountfield's expertly designed ST 170 Lithium start Auto Choke engine has a net power output of 2.60kW @ 2900rpm and is designed to be efficient and virtually maintenance free. Offering a single speed of up to 4.1km/h you will soon notice that this Mountfield S461R PD LS lawn mower offers you plenty of power to get your lawn neat and tidy in record time. The engine provides a powerful drive to the rear roller as well as the cutting blade which means you don't have to push this mower making it incredibly easy to use. Ideal if your garden is anything but perfectly flat. Great for those little inclines or if your garden is on a slope.
The Mountfield S461R PD LS rear roller incorporates an anti-scalping plate to ensure your lawn remains beautiful and healthy. The 127mm steel rear roller will allow you to cut right up to the edge of borders and along fences - so close indeed you may be able to get away with not having to trim up afterwards, saving you valuable time. The roller is well balanced and offers you stability as you mow and also gives those much loved classic British stripes. The cutting width is a generous 46cm but compact enough to make maneuvering around garden objects as easy as possible.
Whatever the length of your grass we're confident you'll find a height of cut to get it sorted - 5 positions ranging from 20mm - 70mm should give you plenty of options whether you are faced with longer untidy growth or you are simply trimming your neat lawn. The 55 litre grass collector has a handy indicator to show you when it's full - this alleviates the possibility of it being overfilled which could leave you with the horrible and time consuming job of emptying a clogged up chute by hand.
This machine incorporates a shiny red steel deck - classic in looks it is built to last for years to come. You'll definitely want to keep this sleek looking mower in tip top condition and it couldn't be easier thanks to the on-board hose connection. Simply attach a hose and operate the blades - water is gushed around to ensure the mower is kept perfectly clean and free from debris and loose grass clippings. Mountfield’s hand-held range of garden machinery includes grass trimmers and brush cutters, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and chainsaws. They are all designed to be lightweight and easy to use. They are suitable for both domestic and professional users.
Mountfield have recently released their Freedom 48 range of cordless garden machinery. Once you have purchased a battery and a charger, you can use them for any of the product in the range as they all use the same battery.

Ride-On Mowers - We charge a minimum rate of £69.00 (for smaller garden riders) and £79.00 (for garden tractors) for all Start 'N' Go orders. This service is available to most mainland England and Wales postcodes. We cannot currently offer this service to any Scottish postcodes.
Everything else - We charge a minimum rate of £29.00 for all Start 'N' Go orders which are being sent to UK mainland addresses (England, Wales and some Scottish addresses*).
Our premium Start 'N' Go+ service is available on certain products to most of England and Wales. Products that receive this service will be assembled, tested and personally delivered by one of our team on our own transport. We will also fully demonstrate the product for you. Delivery is usually 3-5 working days (if ordered Mon-Fri, stock permitting) but during quieter times this can be much sooner. Orders placed over the weekend will be processed on the following Monday (or Tuesday if a bank holiday). We will contact you to book your delivery in.
