The lack of a rear grass collector together with the tight turning circle makes this Mountfield MTF 98M-SD easier than ever to manoeuvre around garden obstacles and allows you to mow close up to borders and edges, leaving you with a lovely neat finish. The easy to use manual transmission features 5 forward gears and 1 reverse allowing you to mow the lawn at your chosen speed. You also have a good view of the back of the mower and this added visibility can be helpful if you want to check what you’ve just mowed or if you need to reverse.
This is a ride-on that is highly capable of keeping your lawn in tip-top condition. The side discharge function for example is absolutely perfect for when the grass has grown longer or is a bit damp. But should you wish to mulch the grass then we have the mulching kit ready and waiting in stock. If you mulch the grass it will be returned to the lawn where it will wilt away quickly and naturally and in this process it will return vital nutrients back to your lawn - you won’t need to worry about purchasing alternative lawn care products at additional cost and effort to you. The mulched grass is of course 100% natural and much better in the long run for you, the environment and the wildlife in your garden and beyond. No packaging, no chemicals, it’s just the grass that’s already growing in your garden!
The Mountfield MTF 98M-SD side-discharge garden tractor is extremely easy to drive and very versatile. It offers a total of 7 preset cutting heights that range from 25mm - 80mm and together with its top speed of 9.7km/h and generous 98cm (38") cutting width you’ll be able to cut the lawn at your own pace and to your own required standards. If your grass has grown longer you can select one of the higher settings which will allow you to cut the grass quickly and then you can change the setting to something much lower to get a nice even finish. The powerful and efficient 352cc Stiga ST350 OHV petrol engine gives you all the power you need to get your lawn mowed in record time.
You’ll love all the state of the art features that Mountfield always seem to include in their products, they don’t make a big song and dance of them as they just come as standard on most models! We’ll start with the easy starting process which actually is a bit of an understatement - it's an electric key and it just…works! There are also parking brakes and headlights for when you need to finish what you’re doing but the light is fading, this keeps you safe and anyone in the vicinity.
You can even attach a tow hitch to this ride-on - and then the possibilities are endless - you can use it with an aerator, a trailer or even a roller or spreader. There’s going to be no stopping you! Oh, and when you need to put it away at night it's going to take up less room in your shed as there’s no collection bag to worry about. At the end of the day you’re going to be a bit disappointed if the lovely gleaming paintwork has dried grass stuck to it, but don’t worry an ordinary garden hose will take care of that (and a quick polish, if you’re that way inclined!). There’s actually a handy onboard nozzle feature that allows you to attach the garden hose to give the blades and cutter deck a quick blast of water and hey presto it’s back to its former glory and all ready to show off on your next session.

And not all shop bought fertilizer is safe for pets and children so you have the bonus of using something that is entirely as Mother Nature intended. Mountfield’s hand-held range of garden machinery includes grass trimmers and brush cutters, hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, and chainsaws. They are all designed to be lightweight and easy to use. They are suitable for both domestic and professional users.
Mountfield have recently released their Freedom 48 range of cordless garden machinery. Once you have purchased a battery and a charger, you can use them for any of the product in the range as they all use the same battery.
