Its powerful but clean-running and fuel-efficient 25cc (1.3hp) PureFire engine is equipped with a Walbro diaphragm carburettor, an electronic ignition and a fuel-primer for reliable starting; and it combines a heavy-duty forged-steel connecting-rod with a chrome-plated, stress-relieved cylinder to ensure a very lengthy service-life.
The optional Tanaka THV-260 vacuum attachment turns the Tanaka THB-260PF into a high-performance vacuum shredder that will make the collection and disposal of yard and garden debris a breeze. Vacuumed material is reduced at a rate of 14:1 before being deposited in a two cubic-feet collection bag. Includes: discharge tube; suction tubes; bag; and rear handle. (Power unit also shown in picture is for illustration purposes only and needs to be purchased separately).

Tanaka originated in 1918 in Japan by Takashi Tanaka who created 'Tanaka Iron Works' near Tokyo. In 1941 the manufacturing plant was built in Narashino, and in 1948 Tanaka began their research and development of compact internal combustion engines.
During 1951, Tanaka began the mass production of moped engines and three years later had produced and marketed a 125 cc motorcycle engine. The main focus for Tanaka continued to be motorcycle engines until 1962 when they opened up a new plant in Shirako and produced the world's smallest industrial, general purpose 2-cycle engine. A few years later Takashi Tanaka's son became president of the company and they began the pursuit of worldwide markets.
It wasn't until 1971 that Tanaka produced their first chainsaw and hedge trimmer for export markets. Also in 1971, Tanaka received a special importation license enabling a joint venture between themselves and a Brazilian company for the manufacture of backpack sprayers.
By 1984 the company had expanded dramatically and Tanaka acquired a small mail order company, Aquabug International, renamed it Sporting Edge, and expanded their product offering even more.
One year after acquiring the mail order company, Tanaka relocated their entire operation to a new 70,000 square feet facility in Bothell, WA. Then in 1987 the Tanaka group and mail order assets were purchased by an investment group led by Bill Thompson. Whilst the company was under a different ownership, it still retained the Tanaka identity and the exclusive marketing rights for Tanaka North, Central and South America.
In 1989, Tanaka's USA assets and marketing rights were purchased by the Ariens Co. of Brillion, Wisconsin. Shortly after this, a new subsidiary company of Ariens, Tanaka Ltd was established to support and market Tanaka products. Then a year later a new line of Ariens branded 2-cycle handheld products which were made by Tanaka were introduced for distribution. Then in 1992 Ariens discontinued their relationship with Tanaka.
In 2007 Hitachi Koki Co Ltd from Japan acquired Tanaka and created two brand new companies. Their goal has always been to create synergy between Tanaka Outdoor Power Equipment and the Hitachi Power Tool business.
Today, Tanaka's line of Outdoor Power Equipment provides professionals and home-owners with reliability, durability, and affordability. The large range of 2-stroke outdoor power equipment consists of brush cutters, hedge cutters, chainsaws, pole pruners and blowers. Everything else - We charge a minimum rate of £29.00 for all Start 'N' Go orders which are being sent to UK mainland addresses (England, Wales and some Scottish addresses*).
Our premium Start 'N' Go+ service is available on certain products to most of England and Wales. Products that receive this service will be assembled, tested and personally delivered by one of our team on our own transport. We will also fully demonstrate the product for you.
