Stihl have developed an exciting 2 stroke-engine with stratified charge. Exhaust emissions are reduced because fuel consumption is decreased by a whopping 20% - cleaner air all round is a welcome bonus for you and the planet. This is achieved by some careful engineering; a fuel-free layer of air is created between the burned charge in the combustion chamber and the fresh charge in the crankcase, reducing the amount of fuel lost during the charge cycle.
The Stihl BG 86 features a Manual fuel pump (Purger). At the touch of a button fuel is delivered to the carburettor via a small fuel pump - this reduces the number of starting strokes required following extended breaks in between operations. This will save you time and effort and means that the fuel is used more economically. Stihl have worked genuinely hard to engineer their petrol machines to be more economical and environmentally friendly as possible.
If you’re working in dusty conditions than fear not. The Stihl BG 86 has been fitted with a HD2 filter that is made from polyethylene material - it’s pores are up to 70% finer than standard filters and therefore will eliminate even the finest of dust. This feature makes this leaf blower a great tool for all year round use. The machine itself repels oil and water - easy to clean, saving you valuable time and effort. The PET filter cartridge requires no tools to remove or insert back.
A handy feature of this powerful leaf blower is the throttle lock with built in stop switch.
A brief press of the button switches off the machine immediately, but once the machine is at a standstill, the ignition activates again automatically, meaning it is always ready to start. Very convenient for the user.
Stihl have also engineered an excellent anti-vibration system. Power tools radiate intense vibrations and over time and with prolonged use this can affect blood vessels in the hands of the user. The Stihl BG 86 B-E petrol leaf blower incorporates this extremely effective anti vibration system. The oscillations from the machines’ engine are dampened - which significantly reduces vibrations at the handles allowing for a more comfortable and safer operation.

Reduced-emission engine technology
2-stroke engine with stratified charge. STIHL ElastoStart
STIHL ElastoStart reduces the shock caused by the compression of the engine during starting. The compression shock is taken away from the user's joints and muscles through a spring or rubber element in the starter handle.
HD2 Filter
The HD2 filter, made from polyethylene filter material, has pores that are up to 70% finer than those of fleexe and polyamide filters and therefore eliminates even the finest dust. In addition, it repels oil and water and is therefore very easy to clean. The PET filter cartridge can be removed and inserted without tools.

Our premium Start 'N' Go+ service is available on certain products to most of England and Wales.
