Powerful and robust tiller with forward drive
The Stihl MH 585 is a powerful, multi-purpose petrol-driven tiller. Versatile and hardworking it is perfectly suited to medium plots of land and larger gardens. Firm ground is no problem for the heavy-duty and powerful engine and it is capable of pretty much any task you need it for, from creating new flower beds to preparing seedbeds for vegetable crops. Even if your crops are close together you can tend them with efficiency and care as you can divide the hoe set and reduce the working width to just 60cm.
A stand out feature of the Stihl MH 585 petrol tiller is the high powered Kohler OHV engine with SmartChoke. Overhead valves ensure that the petrol/air mixture burns especially cleanly and efficiently. The SmartChoke system makes sure that the tiller starts up easily and reliably. The forged crankshaft and cast-iron cylinder liner were developed to guarantee a long service life.
The blades have been specifically designed with a special shape to turn the soil over extremely efficiently with an optimized burrowing action. And cleaning them couldn’t be easier thanks to the special cleaning position which makes the blades easier to clean, assemble and disassemble.
The Stihl MH 585 features a throttle that is within easy reach - the speed controller on the handlebar can be operated with your thumb whilst steering, which means the power is very precisely controlled as you are working. You steer the tiller using both handles and you will find this very comfortable especially as Stihl has incorporated an anti-vibration system in the handlebars which will enable you to work for extended periods of time, with reduced stress on your hands and arms.
You can also adjust the handlebars laterally and longitudinally without using tools, to ensure you find a position to suit you. To store or transport you simply fold the handles over to make the tiller as small as possible.
The Stihl MH 585 has a working width of 85cm and features a brake spur that allows the blade entry depth to be adjusted to suit the task you need it for. The 180° swivelling spur makes it easier to work with the STIHL tiller in narrow passages and bends. It is also easily accessible, and you can choose from 3 different heights and is captive.
The Stihl MH 585 petrol tiller features a rear-wheel axle for smooth transportation. The wheels are simply folded up during operation.

Simple throttle actuation
