The STIHL 2-MIX engine delivers 0.75 kW of power to tackle thick grass and weeds across larger garden areas. This efficient 27.2 cm³ petrol engine is designed to provide high torque while maintaining lower fuel consumption and reduced exhaust emissions for the operator. Users will benefit from the robust performance required for thinning tasks and maintaining meadow grass where standard mowers cannot reach. This power ensures the 420 mm cutting diameter remains effective even when encountering dense or matted vegetation.
Ergonomics are at the forefront of this design featuring a professional bike handle that enables a smooth sweeping motion. When used with the included single shoulder harness the weight of the 4.9 kg machine is distributed evenly across the body. This setup reduces physical strain and fatigue during extended periods of work on uneven terrain or slopes. The tool-free handle adjustment allows the user to quickly customise the grip position to suit their height and comfort requirements.
Operational control is simplified through the single-handed multi-function handle which houses all essential engine elements. This design ensures that the hand of the operator never has to leave the handle to access the throttle or stop switch. Such a layout provides a higher level of safety and reliability as the user maintains a firm grip at all times. The integrated slide control for run and stop functions makes transitioning between tasks seamless and intuitive for both right and left-handed users.
Starting the machine is made easier through the inclusion of a manual fuel pump and electronic ignition module. The manual fuel pump or purger allows the user to deliver petrol to the carburettor with a simple thumb press. This significantly reduces the number of starting strokes required after long breaks in operation or cold starts. Furthermore the encapsulated electronic ignition system is protected against damp and dirt to ensure trouble-free engine performance in various weather conditions.
Maintenance and versatility are key advantages of the FS 55 with its straight shaft and flexible drive shaft system. It comes standard with the AutoCut C 26-2 mowing head which uses 2.4 mm line for precise trimming around obstacles. The 170 cm total length provides excellent reach under bushes and along fence lines without requiring the user to bend down. While supplied with a nylon line head the machine is also compatible with various metal grass blades for more demanding clearing work.

Ride-On Mowers - We charge a minimum rate of £69.00 (for smaller garden riders) and £79.00 (for garden tractors) for all Start 'N' Go orders. This service is available to most mainland England and Wales postcodes. We cannot currently offer this service to any Scottish postcodes.
Everything else - We charge a minimum rate of £29.00 for all Start 'N' Go orders which are being sent to UK mainland addresses (England, Wales and some Scottish addresses*).
Our premium Start 'N' Go+ service is available on certain products to most of England and Wales. Products that receive this service will be assembled, tested and personally delivered by one of our team on our own transport. We will also fully demonstrate the product for you. Delivery is usually 3-5 working days (if ordered Mon-Fri, stock permitting) but during quieter times this can be much sooner. Orders placed over the weekend will be processed on the following Monday (or Tuesday if a bank holiday). We will contact you to book your delivery in.
