This outstanding mower really showcases cutting edge technology, thanks in no small part to the unique double-edged blade which has 4 cutting faces, which means it is specifically designed for super-efficient mowing, giving you a perfect cut, and enabling efficient grass collection.
Twin Clip technology means that the leading edge of the Twinclip blade shortens the initial length of the grass and then the second cutting edge reduces the finished length down to the desired height. So even on longer grass, you will be able to cut it to the desired length. The cuttings are cut and re-cut through the blades as they are efficiently blown straight into the collector. You will soon see for yourself how efficient and quick this system is.
At the heart of the Stiga Twinclip 55 SVEQ H is the powerful new 167 cc Honda GCVxe 170 engine with electric start. The engine is built to give you years of trouble-free mowing, and is easy to maintain and will require the very minimal in the way of service or repair over its long life.
The heavy-duty aluminium cone clutch transmission allows you to set the pace to suit you and your working environment through an infinite amount of speeds. Stiga's unique hybrid design of the galvanised chassis has a powder-coated deep drawn pressed steel chamber with a J section lip which works to increase its stiffness and adds a robust layer of protection. Its shape is specially designed to maximise airflow which is further enhanced by fins moulded in the anti-scalp plate at the front of the mower.
Your comfort a top priority to Stiga which is why the Stiga Twinclip 55 SVEQ H self-propelled petrol lawn mower has been designed to be smoother and quieter with vastly reduced vibrations. The vibration control system (VCS) which isolates vibrations ensures the machine is comfortable to operate. The highly-sensitive self-propelled system allows you to tackle slopes and inclines with the minimum of effort on your part.
The cutting height is easy to change using the well balanced single lever. The deck has a choice of 7 preset cutting heights that range from as low as 25mm right up to 77mm, so whatever the length or conditions of your lawn you can achieve a nice neat lawn.
When it comes to collecting your grass, the clippings can be collected in the generously sized 70-litre grass collector which is easy to empty and reattach. Aimed at moderate gardens of around 50m x 50m the cutting width of 53cm/21" is generous to ensure you get your work done quickly.
A mulching plug is included as standard, and you will find it is easy to attach and if your grass is not too long or damp, it is much easier than collecting the grass. The Twinclip system really comes through for you now, the grass clippings are expertly clipped into tiny pieces where they will sit as practically invisible mulch on your lawn. They will act as a very rich and refined fertilizer, bringing much-needed health to your lawn. You will save time, (Stiga calculates it at about 30% less) effort and money as you won’t have the need to put additional fertilizer on your lawn. If the grass is too long or damp to mulch then you also have the option of rear discharge.
This Stiga Twinclip 55 SVEQ B is extremely reliable and requires very little in the way of maintenance in its many years of service, but you will certainly want to keep it looking it’s very best, and you can do this easily thanks to the onboard hose connection. Simply connect your hose, turn on the water and give it a good clean down. Keeping it free from debris and loose grass clippings will prolong its life and ensure it will remain a hard-working machine for many years to come.

Stiga have been associated with garden machinery for well over 80 years. In March 1934, Sweden, Stig Hjelmquist started the company ‘Firma Fabriksprodukter’ which became the foundation of Stiga AB. The original business concept was ‘newsworthy products of good design and good quality, with advertising that is better than our competitors.’ This business concept was designed to permeate through the whole of Stig Hjelmquist’s business life.
In 1938 the company name was changed to Stiga and the very first Stiga table tennis products were produced. In 1943 Stiga were producing table tennis equipment under their own management, but a few years later they began cooperating with the Swedish TableTennis Association.
In 1954 Stig Hjelmquist imported the first motorized lawn mowers with horizontally rotating blades from the US. That became the starting point of Stigas most successful line; garden machinery.
Over the next few years Stiga continued to work on their table tennis line and produced the first table hockey game. But in 1964 they began their own line of lawnmowers which was incredibly successful. Roughly 400 machines were produced every day.
Stiga became established abroad and sales offices were opened in London and Helsinki, Finland. In 1975 Stiga launched the very first Park: Park 2000, a ride on lawn tractor with a front deck which revolutionized grass cutting in Nordic countries
By 1976 Stiga’s new factory was a massive 34,000m2 making it the biggest factory in the Nordic countries producing motor driven lawnmowers.
Stiga became the biggest manufacturer of lawn mowers in Europe by 1986. They introduced the first mower with the Multi-clip technology, and the first radio controlled mower.
By 1997, Stiga were represented in roughly 40 countries, including New Zealand, North America, South America and Eastern Europe.
Now, Stiga are owned by the GGP Group, manufacturer of one of the largest range of lawn mowers and garden machinery in Europe. GGP UK Limited distribute all Stiga garden machinery in the UK.
