The Stiga Estate 584 garden tractor is a new high specification machine for domestic use and benefits from rear wheel drive and a sturdy, cast-iron front axle. It features a generous 84cm twin-blade deck yet remains compact and simple to operate. Stiga suggests that this model is perfect for gardens of up to 3500 m2 in size and thanks to its spacious 240-litre collector bag you can work for longer periods of time with reduced interruptions, saving you time, hassle and effort along the way. It is easy to use, with light steering and a tight turning circle, making it agile to manoeuvre around trees, borders and garden furniture, with minimum effort.
You’ll be impressed with the powerful ST 500 STIGA 452 cc engine - enabling excellent cutting and collecting performance even in tougher conditions. The anti-vibration system developed by Stiga means that this Stiga Estate 584 does not suffer from vibrations as you work, allowing you to mow the lawn in a comfortable and relaxed manner. The anti-scalp wheels means that this Stiga tractor will treat your grass with the care and respect it deserves.
We love the smooth hydrostatic transmission - it’s a bit like driving an automatic car and is extremely responsive, and of course you can choose from an infinite number of speeds, meaning that you can set the pace to suit your needs. The handy foot pedal allows you to speed up or slow down, improving the manoeuvrability of the lawn tractor and allowing you to cut around obstacles with the greatest of ease.
All Stiga garden tractors cut wider than the wheel width, which means there is little trimming left to do after the lawns have been mown. Grass cuttings are blown from the twin-bladed cutter deck into a large capacity rear mounted collector. An alarm sounds to let the driver know when the collector is full, which is a valuable feature; there is nothing worse than overfilling the collector and then having to unblock the discharge chute by hand – at least you know when the collector is full on a Stiga! Emptying the collector is done from the driving seat; simply pull the tipping lever and the collector opens wide emptying out the clippings, you don’t even need to get off the tractor.
With the Stiga Estate 584 petrol driven garden tractor you get a total of three options of what happens to the grass cuttings. You can choose to rear-discharge them and this is obviously going to be quicker as you won’t need to empty the collector. The cuttings will be laid out in neat rows behind you as you work, and this is great if you have a large open space to mow.
You might not like this option though if you have pets or children in the vicinity as they may end up walking the cut grass (as well shredded as it may be) into your house or vehicle. The answer to this of course is to collect the grass - did we mention the grass collector holds a whopping 240 litres of grass?!
The other option available to you with this model is to switch to mulching mode (mulching kit sold separately); the clippings will be spread out over the grass (very finely shredded) where they will act as a rich and natural grass fertiliser as the mulched grass holds all of the vital ingredients you need to help your new growth grow green and lush - and it seems a shame for it to be left rotting on your compost heap when it can be so useful!
You’ll be glad to know that with the Stiga Estate 584 you have plenty of options over cutting heights. Eight to be exact - and these range from 25-80mm. This means that you’ll be able to get a nice neat finish even in those less favourable months - you can set the height to get the best cut possible, and going down to the lower setting at 25mm will leave you with a super short lawn, which is sure to be the envy of your neighbours.
Packed with so many stand-out features such as powerful headlights, a washing link, a cup holder, a storage compartment as well as a clever little LED screen and a front bumper that prevents damage from any accidental impact this utterly modern and expertly designed Stiga Estate 584 is worth every single penny and will give you many, many years of reliable service.
Also featured are effortless electromagnetic PTO activation; turf-protecting anti-scalp deck wheels; and a front bumper that prevents damage from any accidental impact.
Mulching kit, trailer hitch and battery charger sold separately.
It even comes with a robust extended STIGA 3-year domestic warranty. (T&C’s Apply).
A step up for the larger garden or just a simple upgrade of your garden tools to take on multiple gardening tasks and activities.

Stiga have been associated with garden machinery for well over 80 years. In March 1934, Sweden, Stig Hjelmquist started the company ‘Firma Fabriksprodukter’ which became the foundation of Stiga AB. The original business concept was ‘newsworthy products of good design and good quality, with advertising that is better than our competitors.’ This business concept was designed to permeate through the whole of Stig Hjelmquist’s business life.
In 1938 the company name was changed to Stiga and the very first Stiga table tennis products were produced. In 1943 Stiga were producing table tennis equipment under their own management, but a few years later they began cooperating with the Swedish TableTennis Association.
In 1954 Stig Hjelmquist imported the first motorized lawn mowers with horizontally rotating blades from the US. That became the starting point of Stigas most successful line; garden machinery.
Over the next few years Stiga continued to work on their table tennis line and produced the first table hockey game. But in 1964 they began their own line of lawnmowers which was incredibly successful. Roughly 400 machines were produced every day.
Stiga became established abroad and sales offices were opened in London and Helsinki, Finland. In 1975 Stiga launched the very first Park: Park 2000, a ride on lawn tractor with a front deck which revolutionized grass cutting in Nordic countries
By 1976 Stiga’s new factory was a massive 34,000m2 making it the biggest factory in the Nordic countries producing motor driven lawnmowers.
Stiga became the biggest manufacturer of lawn mowers in Europe by 1986. They introduced the first mower with the Multi-clip technology, and the first radio controlled mower.
By 1997, Stiga were represented in roughly 40 countries, including New Zealand, North America, South America and Eastern Europe.
Now, Stiga are owned by the GGP Group, manufacturer of one of the largest range of lawn mowers and garden machinery in Europe. GGP UK Limited distribute all Stiga garden machinery in the UK.
The quality of Stiga’s machines is second to none. The lawn mowers are built to get the job done efficiently and safely with no fuss and no time wasting. They feature powerful Stiga engines or other well known top brands such as Briggs and Stratton or Honda. The range includes hand pushed models and self propelled machines to choose from.
Stiga also offer a very innovative range of front deck mowers. They’re built for accurate mowing and getting into areas which are often harder to reach.
The Stiga compact lawn riders are really easy to use, offering great manoeuvrability and forward visibility and the Stiga garden tractors are packed with high performance features.
The Stiga range of brushcutters, hedge trimmers and tillers are all of the same fine excellence that the lawnmowers and ride ons have.
