This Eliet Maestro City Electric garden shredder spits out fine chippings - these in turn can be used for nutritional compost and they are collected in the large collection bag that can hold up to 60 litres of chipped material - in layman’s terms this is more than a wheelbarrow’s volume. Not one single chip will be lost and they can also be applied as a fertile mulch layer underneath the plantings of your borders if you so wish.
To allow you to check for when the bag is getting full there is a sight-glass in the top plate of the chassis - just keep an eye on this and you’ll soon see when it’s getting filled up. This handy feature means that the bag won’t get overfull or clogged up, it’s useful of course, but also makes your job safer. This model folds down for easy storage and increased mobility.
The Eliet Maestro City Electric garden shredder benefits from a special shredding system which means it can tackle not only thick branches but also fine pruning waste including that from hedges and shrubs with no problem. Leafy-rich green waste from flower borders or vegetable gardens can be mixed together with no issues and even Autumn leaves that you’ve collected can be put through this shredder.
Eliet suggests however, that if you wanted to use this shredder to exclusively shred such moisture-rich green material then you can replace the standard calibration sieve by an optional “multi-purpose grating for wet greenwaste” in order to prevent any clogging.
The fine chips that the MAESTRO City spits out are the basic material for what will later become nutritious compost. Because not a single scrap would be lost, they are immediately collected in a giant collection bag. The contents of a full collection bag (60 L) fill more than a wheelbarrow. The chips do not always have to be put in the compost bin, they can also be spread as a fertile mulch layer under the plantings in the garden.
Chipping wood is no small feat. The associated force in the machine is quite intense. To give a chipper a long life, no compromises should be made on the quality and durability of the materials used. The ELIET chippers from small to large are all professionally designed. The Maestro City is also an example of this. The steel chopper housing is completely welded into the tubular frame. The input hopper of the ELIET Maestro City was also made of steel.
Out of concern for the environment, ELIET always strives for harmony between the machine and its environment. To dampen the noise pollution of this chipper during operation, the chopping chamber was made double-walled. The sound-absorbing material placed between these muffles the drumming effect of the chips on the walls. This intervention made it possible to reduce the noise level by a few dB.
To check whether the collection bag is full, a sight glass is provided in the top plate of the chassis.
Thanks to its special shredding system, the ELIET Maestro can indiscriminately cut thick branches as well as fine, voluminous pruning waste from, for example, pick up hedges and shrubs without any problems. Leafy green waste from flower borders or the vegetable garden can also be processed together. The leaves collected in the fall can also be put through the shredder!
If you only want to shred such moisture-containing greenery, ELIET recommends replacing the standard calibration sieve with an optional “sieve for leaves and moist products” (Art. code MA 001 052 001) to prevent possible clogging.
To easily transport the Maestro in the trunk of a vehicle, the input funnel can be completely removed . This is done in no time and requires no tools. This feature is also particularly useful for storing the machine as compactly as possible in the garage or a storage room after work.
The engine of the ELIET NEO is surrounded by rubber vibration-absorbing sound barriers. This ensures that the blade vibrations are not distributed through the complete chipping chamber.
The ELIET chippers are equipped with the patented ELIET Chopping Principle™ . This chipping technology uses the weakness of the wood by cutting it in the grain direction.
The blades of ELIET chippers cut into green waste just like miniature splitting axes. The wood is split open in the fiber direction and cut off. This cycle is repeated thousands of times per minute due to the large number of knives. This produces small uniform chips, which can perfectly serve as a mulch layer for the soil or for your compost bin.

During the 1970s, a revival in the garden machinery trade inspired blacksmith Emiel Lietaer to utilise his metal working skills and expand his construction warehouse to include the production of garden machinery. Thanks to Lietaer's highly creative mind and technical skills his very first "Eliet" machine was produced in 1980. However it wasn't until 1986 that his great breakthrough really occurred. It was at the International Agricultural Week at the Heysel Stadium in Brussels, Belgium, that the quality of Eliet machines was first recognised and the brand was finally born.
Demand quickly grew and many investments were made whilst the company grew into a world leader. These demands are still growing now with the expansion of buildings and headcounts.
What started as a business run by one person, soon turned into a large family-run business that is still rapidly expanding. Frederic Lietaer, Emiel's son, soon came to love the profession just as much and was determined to carry on the Eliet success story.
Eliet designers are already working on 'tomorrow's machines' today. They are constantly on the lookout for ways of improving their products. All Eliet products are created with efficiency, economical value, and environmental impact in mind.
With a large selection of scarifiers, aerators and chippers available, Eliet have always been at the front of the race to ensure the latest technology was being utilised to the best of its ability.
