Atco selected the premium 724cc Briggs & Stratton Intrek series 8240 (EFM) twin-cylinder engine to power this garden tractor and it certainly gives you plenty of power whether you are simply mowing your lawn or towing something. Lawn tractors with V-Twin engines offer greater power and versatility. Twin-cylinder engines are a must if you intend to mow large areas or use light-weight attachments on a regular basis. These lawn tractors with V-Twin engines are aimed at bigger spaces that need regular mowing and they can pull light-weight attachments with ease, which is great if you have a lot of work to do on a regular basis.
One of the main features of the Atco GT40H Twin 4WD is the hydrostatic transmission. You’ll no doubt hear people saying that once they’ve got used to the hydrostatic transmission they don’t want to use anything else. It's incredibly smooth and a dream to operate - you won’t believe how easy it is. You have an infinite amount of speeds in both forward and reverse and thanks to the responsive foot pedal changing speed or gear is effortless. Working in the same way as an automatic car, to move forward you simply press the pedal, the firmer you press, the faster you will go. To reverse you simply press the rear section of the pedal. The headlights allow you to work even in the fading light, which means you can get your work finished even if the sun is going down, and the rear brake lights ensure anyone behind you has plenty of warning when you stop.
The 4 wheel drive system on the Atco GT40H Twin 4WD powers all four wheels at the same time and this means that even on sloping or undulating ground the traction is exceptional. Long grass and rough terrains pose no problem whatsoever for this Atco GT40H, thanks to the innovative and very capable 4 wheel drive. The blades can be turned off at the mere flick of a switch through an electronic clutch. This is a great safety feature and reduces the risk of accidents.
Aimed at lawns of around 5 acres this Atco GT40H twin cylinder 4 wheel drive garden tractor is unconditionally versatile and can cope with any conditions you need it for. It features a turning circle of 100cm making it incredibly easy to manoeuvre and 9 preset cutting heights that range from 25-100mm making it pretty much ready for any length of grass you need it for. The large 10 litre fuel tank ensures you can get plenty of work done before you need to refill.
The reliable and high powered Atco GT40H Twin 4WD features an 102cm/40” twin blade “timed” cutting deck with twin contra rotating blades for an extremely neat finish - despite their generous breadth. The twin contra rotating blades also work to blow the cut grass into the large 360 litre collector in a truly efficient manner. The collector features a buzzer system that alerts you straight away when the bag is becoming full. This ensures you never allow the bag to become full and clogged up with grass clippings.
The robust front bumper allows the Atco GT40H Twin 4WD to take a few knocks without damaging the machine or sending you flying. However, in the unlikely event that you do leave your seat mid-mow, you will be reassured to know that the comfortable driver’s seat is fitted with a safety contact breaker so the engine will cut out if this should happen.
A mulching plug is provided as standard and if you should choose to mulch your grass the competent mulching system finely cuts the grass and recycles it back to your lawn where it will sit, barely noticeable acting as a nutrient rich and natural fertilizer. This means you won’t need to purchase or apply additional lawn fertilizing products, saving you time, money and effort.

Everything else - We charge a minimum rate of £29.00 for all Start 'N' Go orders which are being sent to UK mainland addresses (England, Wales and some Scottish addresses*).
Our premium Start 'N' Go+ service is available on certain products to most of England and Wales. Products that receive this service will be assembled, tested and personally delivered by one of our team on our own transport. We will also fully demonstrate the product for you. Delivery is usually 3-5 working days (if ordered Mon-Fri, stock permitting) but during quieter times this can be much sooner.
