The Canycom CMX1402 is a 4 wheel drive ride on brush cutter, heralded as a rough terrain, hard working machine with a premium Honda engine. This premium machine may be considered an entry level model, but it offers a wealth of stand-out-features aimed at the discerning gardener. With a hydrostatic drive and a high & low ratio gearbox, this Canycom CMX1402 is a joy to work with.
This Canycom CMX1402 ride on brush cutter is a 4 wheel drive unit with a complete safety system including drum brake and a hydrostatic drive train that can be hand or foot operated. Designed especially to allow the user to cut long grass and brush on both rough terrains and steep slopes, this model is ideal for those more demanding situations such as steep slopes of up to 25 degree gradients and brush up to 36mm in diameter.
These Japanese Canycom machines are incredibly powerful - much more than a brush cutter making them the ideal tool to clear large areas of rough grass.
The 14 hp horizontal shaft Honda GX390 engine for example has a chain driven overhead cam shaft for superior power levels. It is powerful and efficient and there is even a clever mesh screen on the cleaner that has been designed to effectively take in air, directing it to three tubular cyclone chambers. Each turbo fin-shaped entrance efficiently accelerates the air as it travels from top to bottom, forcing particulates from the air stream.
This innovative system ensures that debris and dirt is trapped and removed before it reaches the foam pre-cleaner - this means that only clean air enters the engine. This means that this engine can go as long as 3 times longer than the Honda engines with standard dual element air cleaners between maintenance sessions. This model has a 975mm working width together with a 0-150mm moving height
Featuring a unique shaft driven engine together with razor sharp blades it’s easy to see how this model is streets ahead of the competition. Thanks to the lack of a belt you get 100% of the power being driven to the engine rather than the usual 70%. The smooth hydrostatic drive handles a bit like a small automatic car, making this Canycom CMX1402 ride-on brush cutter a breeze to operate.
CANYCOM brushcutters boast blades with the same steel engineered for use in Samurai swords, offering outstanding strength and durability. Blades are created through a complex process, which involves metal being folded, forged, tempered and quenched repeatedly to achieve a special linear grain. This technique has evolved over centuries in Japan and, just like legendary Samurai Swords, gives the blades unrivalled strength and endurance.
A unique shaft-driven system means 100% of engine power is delivered to the blades. Compared to belt-driven machines that do not deliver the full engine power, the CANYCOM can cut through taller and thicker vegetation.
Shaft drive is also far more reliable than belt drive, eliminating the frustration of having to replace expensive belts, which commonly break in extreme cutting conditions. A combination of powerful shaft drive and ultra-tough blades produces a solution for the toughest conditions that no other mowers of this type can handle.
Thanks to a low centre of gravity, virtually hugging the ground, CANYCOM brushcutters offer an industry-leading EU certification of up to 25 degrees gradeability. Further stability is provided with the option to switch to four-wheel drive and engage a rear diff-lock, offering support in a range of conditions. In addition to foot pedals, there’s also the option of driving the machine with a hand control, which may be preferable in steeper situations.
Brushcutters also benefit from an efficient hydro and mechanical drive system, utilising all available horsepower while providing ease of use, simply operated by a single foot pedal. The drivetrain has a high and low range to best adjust your ground speed to your cutting conditions. This allows you to travel at maximum speed for open flat ground, or use low range to gear down for ultimate power to the 4WD system.
An optimum position for the operator is achieved thanks to a fully adjustable steering wheel angle and height, along with a three-way adjustable seat. For ultimate safety, the CMX2406 model also features a certified foldable ROPS and Slope Warning System (Starts beeping at 18°, beeps fast at 23° and engine automatically stops 60°).
The CANYCOM CMX1402 and CMX227 models feature a 0-150mm cutting height, with 21 levels of adjustment through a low-resistance hand control lever. The CANYCOM CMX2407 offers an electro-motorised lifting deck, meaning a 0-170mm cutting height is easily adjusted at the touch of a button.

Our premium Start 'N' Go+ service is available on certain products to most of England and Wales.
