The range of six cartridges turns the Kensington cylinder lawnmower into a complete powered system with tools for every job necessary for a lawn to be proud of.

One of the earliest jobs on the calendar is to get rid of the build-up of thatch – dead grass, decaying leaves and other rubbish – allowing air, water, nutrients and vital sunlight to reach the roots. The tines penetrate up to 6mm into the lawn and the Dethatcher Cartridge should be used between February and March and again between September to October.

The Aerator Cartridge penetrates the soil to allow air and water into the turf. This should be used regularly throughout the growing season.

The next two cartridges for spring lawncare are the Verticutter and the Scarifier. The Verticutter cartridge should be used regularly throughout the growing season from April onwards. It removes lateral growth in the grass to provide a strong, even finish. It also removes any build-up of moss. Finally, the spring tined Scarifier cartridge is best used between April and the end of June. It spring cleans the surface of the lawn, getting down through the grass and removing moss and other debris.

All four spring care cartridges can be used on the Allett Kensingon 14”, Allett Kensingon 17” and Allett Kensingon 20” machines. The standard cutting cylinder on all Kensington models will work hard throughout the growing season, producing those quintessentially British lawn stripes.
