Bosch are one of the markets leading suppliers of high quality, electric and cordless garden tools for domestic gardeners. They’ve had an enormous impact on the industry for cordless machines with lithium-ion batteries. Now, Bosch are taking it one-step further and entering a new market, catering for professional users.
With the launch of four new fantastic professional models available from Spring 2015, commercial users can now opt for Bosch products for a cordless experience which leaves that high quality petrol finish that people are familiar with.
The new professional products feature a 36-Volt lithium-ion battery system with 6.0 AH, which features a unique CoolPack technology from Bosch. It has aluminium cooling fins which are designed to reliably protect the battery cells from overheating and ensure that the battery utilizes its capacity, even during the most intensive applications. A high amount of energy is constantly being drawn from the battery, this ensures consistently high motor performance than any other standard battery system. The cells on the battery are sealed, making it a weatherproof product that can be stored, transported or used, even in the rain. The battery even features an LCD display screen which informs the user about the battery charge state and the number of charge cycles it has had.
The battery charger is also weatherproof. It charges the battery with ten amperes of charging current to 80 percent in 30 minutes, and to 100 percent in 42 minutes. This provides uninterrupted work because the battery is recharged faster than it is discharged during use of the tool.
The two Bosch lawnmowers, the GRA 48 professional, and the GRA 53 professional, come with a 48 and 53 centimetre cutting width, which is ideal for commercial users. They both feature land drive with variable speed control which adapts the work rate in respect to lawn conditions. Another advantage of variable speed control is that the drive also runs independently of the blade. This makes manoeuvring across paths a much safer experience. The cutting height on the GRA 48 and 53 professional models can be conveniently adjusted between 20 – 70 mm. The height of cut is simple to adjust thanks to the one-handed adjustable cut lever which works in all lawn conditions. The smaller model comes with a 69 litre grass bag, whilst the larger model comes with a 75 litre grass bag. You are also able to purchase a mulch kit if that is your preferred method of grass disposal. They both operate with maintenance-free, brushless EC motors with a long service life – an advantage over maintenance-intensive petrol engines. Simply push the button on the cordless tools, and the work can begin.
The new Bosch brushcutters, GFR 42 professional, and the GFR 25 professional, also both operate with a maintenance-free, brushless EC motor which provides a long service life. It also makes them easy to start by simply pushing the button and off you go. These two brushcutters are distinguished by their cutting system. The GFR 42 features a line spool making it ideal for light to medium vegetation. The GFR 25 features a metal blade for use in thicker vegetation. The new cordless systems are incredibly quiet. For exampe, the GFR 25 with metal blade works at a very low 79 decibels, which is about the same sound as a vacuum cleaner. A petrol engine brushcutter roughly works around 100 decibels. Both of these brushcutters have excellent balance which contributes to ease of use when using for long periods of time. The switches are installed on the ergonomic two-hand grip, making intuitive operation possible and ensuring that users always have maximum control over the tool.
