The benefits of owning a twin-cylinder engine lawn tractor

Yes – that’s a boring title isn’t it? Sorry about that, but it’s a question we get asked over and over. So we thought we’d take the time to answer it  – albeit rather briefly (you didn’t really want the long answer, did you?) So, here we go again to help you make a few wise decisions before you part with your hard earned cash.

So, what are the benefits of a twin-cylinder engine over a traditional single cylinder tractor engine? Well, since you asked (well, some of you did!) you get more power with a v-twin engine than you would with a traditional single cylinder engine. They are quieter with lower vibrations, which means less wear on the other components leading to a longer life and reduced maintenance. The V-twin engine also runs cooler and burns fuel cleaner.

Lawn tractors with V-Twin engines offer greater power and versatility. Twin cylinder engines are a must if you intend to mow large areas or use light-weight attachments on a regular basis. These lawn tractors with V-Twin engines are aimed at bigger spaces that need regular mowing and they can pull light-weight attachments with ease, which is great if you have a lot of work to do on a regular basis.

The Mountfield 1643H-SD Twin-Cylinder Side-Discharge Garden Tractor is a great example of a lawn tractor that uses a v-twin engine. Powered by the exceptional 603cc twin cylinder Kawasaki engine, this garden tractor also features a pedal operated hydrostatic transmission with a reverse gear. It is fitted with a 108cm cutter deck and comes complete with a tow bar & mulching kit as standard. Height of cut is easy to adjust from 25-80mm with 7 settings.

Further attributes included a super-tight 130cm turning-radius for straightforward end-of-pass realignment; and an adjustable seat for a comfortable drive, whatever your height.

The Stiga Tornado 3108 HW lawn tractor is another example of a Twin-cylinder machine offers a 42” deck – so would be ideal for you if you have between 1 and 2 acres of land. It features a twin-cylinder petrol Briggs & Stratton engine with net power output of 11.45 kW @ 2800 rpm. You have plenty of power and the Briggs & Stratton engine will serve you well for many years to come. Packed with features and clever engineering combined with premium parts you’ll soon find this fantastic Stiga Tornado is everything you need it to be!

These 2 tractors are just a very small example of the many twin cylinder lawn tractors we sell at Just Lawnmowers. Our team of experts will be able to offer advice on choosing the right twin-cylinder machine for you and your garden, so why not give one of them a call! They won’t bite, I promise!
