Billy Goat Vacuum – A brief history
Started in 1967 as a subsidiary of Clipper Manufacturing, Billy Goat became independent in 1969. Today, the company is owned and operated by two generations of the Coates family. In 1974, Billy Goat moved to its current location in Lee’s Summit, Missouri, USA. Since that time, the company has expanded its facilities three times; the most recent being a 20,000 square foot addition occupied by welding and fabrication.
The company’s reputation is one of durability, integrity, and innovation. They not only design for ease of use, but we aggressively test what we design. It is not unusual to see Goats over fifteen years old still in operation.
Billy Goat Vacuum: The Wheeled Range
Billy Goat produce leaf vacuums for all applications, ranging from the entry-level Little Billy Goat vacuum to the professional VQ range.

Which Billy Goat vacuum should I buy?
Billy Goat’s next generation 27” wide lawn and litter vacuum is ideal for residential and property maintenance and builds on our 40 year legacy of strong suction, simple operation, and reliable design that makes outdoor vacuum clean-up a snap.
Whether it is residential clean-up for your patio, lawn, driveway, walkway, shrubs, beds, decks, pool areas, trees, parking lots, or fence line – Billy Goat’s new KV vacuum eats and bags all your yard clean-up chores. An optional hose kit helps between shrubs, beds and under decks or utilities. The new unit features a 5-blade impeller with serrated edges to maximize both suction and debris reduction. Variable height adjustment for either hard surface or turf work, and all the material is accumulated in a breathable-hard bottom mesh turf bag with an integral dust cover. For convenience, bag zippers have been eliminated in favour of simple to use marine style clasps that open and close easily when emptying debris. Honda or Briggs power combine with 12” smooth tread wheels as well as the optional rear-wheel self propelled for hilly turf applications, make operation simple in any environment.
Think of all the ways you use your various vacuums indoors. Now, isn’t it about time someone manufactured a vacuum for the great outdoors? Leaves are so blasé. How about hedge clippings, sweet gum balls, mulch, broken glass, window wells? You get the picture-there are no shortage of ways to use a great vacuum—outdoors.
The MV range features; zipper-less bags, easy empty bags, rear wheel drive system, and suction to spare.Billy Goat’s new MultiVac creates the standard by which all outdoor vacuums will now be measured.
The MultiVac delivers. Billy Goat engineers started with a rear wheel drive and top-fill design. From there they added an adjustable intake, three-speed transmission, a 32-gallon zipper-less bag, and a quality Honda engine.
The undisputed heavyweight in the Billy goat vacuum range of industrial vacuums, the VQ Wide Area leaf and litter vacuum delivers size, power and years of trouble-free quiet operation on hard surfaces or turf. At 33” of nozzle width, the VQ is the most productive pedestrian vacuum available.
Five forward speeds allow the operator to match groundspeed to the terrain and application – a maximum of 5 MPH is possible. The adjustable intake door opens up for items as large as one litre bottles or closes down for small, heavy debris.
The intake nozzle is built to take abuse. The VQ housing and exhaust are also constructed of steel.
To match its overall size and performance, the VQ comes standard with a 10-bushel (352 litres) synthetic felt bag. This improves filtration and increases time between emptying.
Billy Goat vacuum – Uniquely Billy Goat
It’s quite easy to determine the difference between a Billy Goat vacuum and their competitors. It simply comes down to quality and lasting power.
You can definitely tell that they’ve been in the business for over 40 years. Let’s be honest, there are other wheeled garden vacs out there, but the standard is just not at the same level as a Billy Goat vacuum.
