Despite the Punch being\u00a0their\u00a0first ever motorised model, this company had a long history when it came to making agricultural and horticultural machines.<\/p>\n

The introduction of the Suffolk Punch cylinder mower was a huge evolution in lawnmower design. A lot of its key components and features were seized by other manufacturers many years afterwards. Even today the majority of cylinder mowers have an incredibly similar layout and appearance.<\/p>\n

The Suffolk Punch was one of the first popular mowers to be fitted with a compact but powerful 4-stroke petrol engine. Major components of the machine were built from pressed steel and light weight alloys which made a huge\u00a0difference\u00a0to other mowers at the time which were built from cast iron and heavy gauge sheet steel.<\/p>\n

Many thousands of Suffolk Punch cylinder machines were sold in the UK and overseas making it an incredibly popular machine. They were the most reliable domestic motor mowers to ever be produced in the UK and still to this day have a very loyal band of dedicated\u00a0followers.<\/p>\n

Eventually, Suffolk Punch became part of the Atco Qualcast group, and the name was not heard of for many years afterwards.<\/p>\n
