What is a Cylinder Mower? Cylinder mowers use a horizontal cylinder of blades cutting against a fixed bottom blade for a superior scissor like quality cut. They are the most energy efficient of all the cutting systems which is why cylinder mowers have smaller motors than rotary or hover. They are all fitted with rear rollers to leave a rolled striped effect on your lawn. The Allett Classic 17L is a self-propelled cylinder lawn mower that is perfect for regular use on well maintained lawns. The Allett Classic 17L features five-stage cutting-height which provides flexibility in your lawn cutting heights. It also has an exremely low minimum cutting height of just 10mm - Ideal if you wish to achieve low cut finishes. This is far lower than most rotary mowers.
This environmentally-friendly model is powered by a high-performance Loncin engine that runs on unleaded fuel for EU emission compliance. It comes with a front mounted collector for highly-efficient grass-collection. It is also equipped with a removable Qc cassette system that makes maintenance easier and allows for hassle-free blade-sharpening. A scarifying cassette can also be inserted without tools.
A key feature of the Allett Classic 17L petrol cylinder lawn mower is it's 3-way transmission. This enables you to cut the power-drive to the roller with the cutting-cylinder still turning – ideal when mowing around obstacles. Alternatively, you can stop the cylinder with the power-drive still engaged – perfect when traversing non-grassed areas like gravel drives and concrete paths.
